For more than two decades, Matthew has specialised in advanced hydraulic modelling and associated software development. With experience in delivering complex water and energy infrastructure projects, he’s known for bringing clarity to high-risk hydraulic challenges and for translating complex fluid mechanics problems into practical, buildable solutions. He’s worked on numerous major projects including the various large water transfer stations throughout the Middle East, Ashbridges Bay Treatment Plant Debottlenecking (Canada), and various UK water quality and energy schemes.
Matthew advocates for first-principles thinking, proportionate analysis, and using the right level of modelling sophistication to support timely, safe, resilient outcomes. He is also closely associated with the development and application of our Hades software for steady state hydraulic analysis, helping teams interpret and develop complex hydraulic design confidently and consistently.
Passionate about mentoring engineers and building strong, collaborative technical teams, Matthew leads the wider mechanical and electrical teams within our UK Water group.
