Sophie Nioche

Associate Environmental Planner

Photo of Sophie

Sophie has over 13 years of environmental planning experience, coordinating project teams to deliver Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of development and infrastructure projects. Sophie also manages the technical input for our clients where we are providing multi-disciplinary services, to provide a coordinated approach and single point of contact.

She has extensive experience of environmental management from the early feasibility stage through to managed handover of a project to the construction team and is skilled in bringing teams together to deliver excellent project outcomes. Prior to joining Stantec, Sophie managed public consultation, land lease negotiations, EIA and, where required, public inquiry aspects for commercial-scale wind farms in England and Scotland. She brings a multidisciplinary approach to enable the best environmental outcomes through collaboration and challenges her team to create happy healthy places. Sophie is interested to see how climate change and human health will continue to shape developments and firmly believes we need to think carefully about how we build on greenfield sites.

Outside of work, Sophie enjoys her allotment, pottery, wild swimming, camping, and going for bike rides with her family.
