Duncan is a chartered town planner with specific interests in sustainable development, infrastructure consenting, socio-economic assessment, and development planning. His work is informed by an in-depth understanding of the inter-connected planning, environmental, legal, design, and viability considerations which need to be addressed in successful plan making and major development projects.
Leading the delivery of strategic environmental services, Duncan focuses on sustainability appraisals (SA), strategic environmental assessments (SEA), and equalities impact assessments (EqIA). He regularly provides strategic advice and technical leadership to support the development of innovative plans, policies, and strategies across the UK.
Duncan is also an experienced environmental impact assessment (EIA) coordinator, project manager, and socio-economics lead author. He applies a client-centred approach to everything he does, informed by his experience working under each of the UK’s devolved planning systems and associated infrastructure consenting regimes.
Outside of work Duncan is a keen rugby fan and enjoys cycling in the Scottish countryside.
