Richard joined the practice in 1986 and is based in the South West. He heads up our operations in that region and has a leading role in civil engineering. He holds a degree in civil engineering from the University of Surrey and is a fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
With experience in all aspects of development and infrastructure projects, he’s worked on the concept design, planning, procurement, contract administration, and project management of major commercial, industrial, housing, and mixed-use land development projects across the UK.
Richard has overseen the infrastructure delivery of numerous schemes, including the Bristol and Bath Science Park, the redevelopment of Begbroke Science Park, key infrastructure and transport highways schemes for the recently approved mixed-use site at Filton Airfield, and the regeneration of the historic Castle Green site in central Taunton.
When he’s not busy delivering sustainable solutions in our communities, Richard can be found walking the stunning—but grueling—1,013-kilometre (630-mile) southwest coastal path in the UK with his wife and two Beagle dogs. He is also a passionate and lifelong Tottenham Hotspurs fan.
