Dundee Green Transport Hub

In line with their transport strategy, the Dundee City Council (DCC) wanted to improve access to their city centre and create sustainable modes of transport. DCC engaged our team to design a network of active travel corridors from northeast and northwest of the city, converging on a central transport hub.

The hub will be created by redeveloping a multi-storey car park into a multi-modal, sustainable transport hub. A planned 350 electrical vehicle charging points will be incorporated along with electric vehicle car club spaces and e-bike hire. A significant solar array and battery storage system will power the hub without putting additional strain on the grid. The hub will also create enhanced walking and cycling links to the city centre, providing residents with access to sustainable transport options that improve connectivity and make the city centre greener, safer, and a more attractive place to live.

To support the scheme, DCC and our team jointly developed a bid that successfully secured over £14 million in the second round of the Levelling Up Fund. Our innovative impact assessment helped make the economic case for the project while complying with best practice guidance.
