Finsbury Infrastructure – Data Centre Due Diligence

Finsbury Infrastructure is an Irish-owned company focused on developing low-carbon data centres and energy parks to accommodate AI and cloud service provider needs. Looking to develop resilient data centres in sites across the UK, Europe, and Asia Pacific, they engaged us to help.

Data centre site selection can be challenging, with risk and suitability variables such as grid and planning reforms and land issues. Our global, multidisciplinary team conducted due diligence support in planning, geotechnical, civil engineering, biodiversity, and ecology. We also provided due diligence support for air quality, land contamination, and acoustics, along with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Additionally, we’re assisting Finsbury with bids.

Prioritising sites with robust grid connections, access to renewable energy, and high-capacity fibre networks, Finsbury aims to offer service providers with ultra-low latency and resilient power supply. With due diligence in hand, they have what they need to build a strong portfolio of future-ready sites.

Paul McLaughlin, senior development manager at Finsbury Infrastructure, says, “We have benefited enormously from early-stage engagement with Stantec. They have listened to our needs and found solutions to our problems. They have helped us to navigate some key decisions around feasibility and risk. They have also gone above and beyond to support our financial forecasting”.
