Lisson Arches, Westminster

Lisson Arches is a landmark housing scheme in Maida Vale, London for older adults as well as a business enterprise building for Westminster City Council. The homes plan to meet Housing for an Ageing Population Panel for Innovation (HAPPI) recommendations and provide community supportive housing for elderly adults.

Stantec was initially appointed to develop the civil and structural design of the building on behalf of City West Homes and are currently supporting the enabling works contractor to deliver utility diversions. To enable construction, several live services will have to be diverted, amongst them an existing Thames Water main and a UK Power Networks extra high voltage route. An existing fire ramp and part of the Lisson Grove Bridge will also have to be demolished to enable the construction of the new building.

The supportive housing provided as part of this housing scheme will allow people aged 60 and above to live independently in homes that are modern and well-equipped. The adjacent enterprise space is also filling the needs of small businesses and start-ups.
