Located on 250 acres (101 hectares) close to Junction 4 on the M61 motorway, Logistics North is the North West’s largest live commercial development. Our mechanical and electrical team has provided strategic management for the extension of utilities infrastructure across huge parts of the development.
We have delivered engineering and utility services to four core areas of the development. This included retail amenities, two distribution warehouses totalling 37,000 square metres (398,265 square feet), two smaller units on which we also delivered BREEAM and energy consultancy advice, and the Multiply phases of the development.
Our work on the Multiply scheme included the extension of all the infrastructure to service the various units such as gas, water, telecommunications, and electricity. The nine units developed under the scheme each achieved a BREEAM Very Good rating.
Across the whole of the Logistics North site, we worked closely with Electricity North West to manage the overall power needs and the role of the on-site substation. With the site growing, we monitored the load take up to determine the optimum amount of power required balanced against the investment required to upgrade existing infrastructure.
