Longshot Lane Household Waste Recycle Centre

As the amount of waste increases within the Bracknell communities, in large part due to a growing population, issues of capacity and access to the Longshot Lane Household Waste Recycling Centre were starting to affect the site. What does that mean? Existing problems (such as traffic congestion on the approach to the facility) will be exacerbated. Our job was to investigate and propose solutions to the capacity problems and access issues.

After reviewing the site and its surrounding areas, we were able to issue a provisional report, on time, in budget, and to the satisfaction of the client. The report included twenty general solutions categorised to address the key issues affecting the site and to allow a phased introduction of improvements.

The solutions we proposed would allow the community to continue to use the waste recycling centre to its full capacity without encountering traffic congestion within and around the facility. The result? A smoother, quicker experience and overall better satisfaction when using the facility—therefore increasing the likelihood of the community using it.
