For many years, healthcare services in Leominster were delivered from multiple locations across the town. Marsh Court Health Centre brings those services together in a modern, purpose-designed facility, creating a more convenient and accessible experience for patients while providing a high-quality environment for healthcare professionals. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, we provided mechanical, electrical, and public health engineering services for the new health centre.
The all-electric building incorporates air source heat pumps, roof-mounted photovoltaic panels and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery to help reduce operational carbon. The team introduced secure night-cooling windows to support overheating mitigation, while a dedicated isolation suite with independent building services provides flexibility and resilience for future healthcare needs. The design also pays particular attention to protecting neighbouring homes, with acoustic measures carefully integrated into the building's low-carbon energy strategy. Through these measures and others, the project achieved BREEAM Excellent standards while responding sensitively to its residential setting and delivering a low-carbon solution that would support the long-term needs of the community.
Located close to the centre of Leominster, the facility has been designed with accessibility, comfort, and well-being in mind. Natural light, views to landscaped outdoor spaces, and flexible clinical environments create a welcoming setting for patients and employees alike. The new health centre serves a growing community of over 20,000 people and accommodates general practitioner services, diagnostics, treatment spaces, pharmacy provision and community healthcare functions under one roof. It includes more than 30 consulting and treatment rooms and has capacity to support future service expansion.
The result is a future-ready healthcare hub that improves access to services, supports the well-being of those who use it, and provides lasting value for the wider Herefordshire community.
