A prestigious Newlands Park development
Based in the heart of Luton, a bustling town just north of London, a 40-acre site is one of the most visible and prominent development sites in the United Kingdom. In December 2015, the site was acquired by Luton 2020 Developments, who proposed opportunities to create an iconic gateway to the town. The aim? To improve people’s perceptions of the town, bring in new businesses, complement the town centre, and create over 4,000 new jobs.
Supporting Luton 2020 Developments with their initial planning proposals, our team has provided a range of technical consultancy services including transport, utilities, geotechnical, ecology, flood risk, and drainage. The core elements of the plan include up to 42,000 square metres (m2) of high-spec offices, 37,000m2 of retail trading space (anchored by a quality department store to complement and enhance existing retail in Luton), 16,000m2 of leisure floor space, and a 350-bed hotel.
Today, we continue to support the development of this exciting mixed-use scheme. Once complete, the site will provide the community with much needed open spaces that offer environmental benefits and boost the towns economy.
