Origin Workspace - Engineering Services

J4 Projects set out to transform a classic Georgian-style building into a collaborative business space. They appointed our team to deliver structural, buildings, and geotechnical engineering design services.

Our structural design solutions supported wellbeing with the adaption of an existing lightwell to deliver a naturally ventilated building. To achieve this, we enclosed an original courtyard to draw in natural ventilation. The scheme also involved a significant replacement of the façade to accommodate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing solutions and allow flexibility in how the space will be used.

Billed as Bristol’s first space dedicated to proworking with capacity for 400 members, Origin Workspace offers a stylish co-working space designed for professionals located in a prime position. It offers lounge membership, hot-desks, dedicated desks, cellular office space, meeting rooms, and event space. The building also provides a wellness suite and gym.
