Smith's Yard - Engineering Services

We previously supported both John Sisk and Son and the Manchester Life Development Company with the Cotton Field Wharf development, the first of four rental developments within Phase One of Manchester Life. Smith’s Yard was the next phase in this plan to create vibrant and inclusive communities.

Our role included initial ground investigation work to inform the subsequent design as well as civil and structural engineering design for the whole development. We also provided 3D co-ordination on the below ground services and served in a building services design assurance role.

Smith’s Yard provides vital, well-located, high-quality rental accommodation to support the emergence of Ancoats as a desirable residential neighbourhood on the eastern edge of Manchester city centre. Part eight-storey, part five-storey building, the development provides 199 residential units and 4 ground floor commercial units.
