YTL Arena Bristol

YTL Developments (UK) Ltd set out to redevelop the Brabazon Hangars—next to Brabazon, the thriving new neighbourhood being built on the historic, former Filton Airfield-into a 17,000-person capacity, state-of-the-art, live-entertainment complex. The venue, just outside of Bristol, will be the fourth largest entertainment complex in the UK.

The main central building will house the arena, with a conference hall on one side and shops, businesses, and leisure facilities on the other. A new bridge over the railway, road layout changes, and a 2,000-space temporary car park will also be implemented. During the planning process we provided specialist acoustics, air quality, ecology, landscape/townscape, visual, and night-time consultancy services. Using extensive prior knowledge of the site and neighbourhood from our long-standing work on the Brabazon, our environment specialists assisted YTL Developments by undertaking focused pre-application consultations with the two councils.

YTL Arena Bristol, will form a distinctive, large-scale, and iconic townscape feature—the regeneration and repurposing of the hangars will enhance the urban area. Once complete, the entertainment complex should bring a huge economic and cultural boost to the whole of Greater Bristol with an expected 1.4 million visitors a year. YTL Arena Bristol is planned to open in 2024.
