Debra Johnson shares why change doesn’t happen faster in the mining industry. She describes some of the barriers mining companies face when hoping to implement new technologies or solutions. A lot of it comes down to disruptions to production schedule, but she also says mining must consider adapting technologies from other industries.
Woven throughout the discussion, Debra talks sustainability, too. She describes how mining companies are no longer tasked with only pleasing shareholders, they must also impress stakeholders and respect the role of consumers.
