Mine closure and mine reclamation planning are critical to mine design and operations. This is true even before it’s time for the mine to close. Stantec hydrogeologist Sara Wilkins was featured in the Canadian Mining Journal where she describes the importance of progressive reclamation, as well as early planning and monitoring to decrease risks in water monitoring and tailings storage. She also shares one of the most common challenges closure and reclamation project managers experience—managing topsoil.
