Our mechanical and hydroelectric generator experts, discuss the mechanical components of hydroelectric generators in the latest issue of the International Journal of Hydropower and Dams. Although generators are typically tied to words such as “power” and “electricity”, the authors stress that it’s important to remember their components are in fact primarily mechanical. Recognizing the potential issues between the complicated interconnections is vital for owners who are concerned with upkeep and refurbishments.
