Fountain Place Residences
Fountain Place has defined the Dallas skyline and Arts District since 1986. The office tower’s iconic, prism-like form stands as a testament to Pei Cobb Freed’s design. But the original master plan always imagined more—a pair of identical, asymmetrical towers, each rotated 90 degrees from the other, creating a dynamic interplay of light, glass, and geometry.
Now, nearly four decades later, AMLI Development Company engaged our team to complete the composition with a 45-story emerald-glass residential sibling that honors the original in proportion, massing, and cladding while introducing modern refinements. With carefully sculpted slices, folds, and ridges, this new tower complements its counterpart—distinct yet unmistakably connected.
We carefully curated every detail—from furnishings to art—to create an atmosphere where luxury and livability converge. Refined furniture selections introduce rich textures and finishes including embroidered velvet, warm hardwoods, polished chrome, and tactile upholstery. Each lounge piece is sculptural in form and designed for both comfort and performance with features like self-returning swivels that keep spaces looking organized and intentional.
Beyond furnishings, we layered the space with sophisticated details, from the welcoming lobby to thoughtfully designed amenities. Here, art is more than décor—it’s an experience. Site-specific commissions, such as Resonance by Beili Liu and Two Cereus Cacti with Pods by Paul Clarence Oglesby, transform shared spaces into an immersive gallery.
Additionally, the new tower sits atop a nine-story parking podium, its 192-square-foot (18-square-metre) base matching the footprint of the adjacent office tower. At level 10, the tower pivots 45 degrees, strategically aligning residential units with sweeping views of Uptown and Santiago Calatrava’s Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge.
Fountain Place Residences transformed a former parking lot into a bold yet balanced complement to the original tower, completing the Dan Kiley-designed plaza.
