Setting the standard for wellness living in the Massachusetts

Life Time Living Burlington - Architecture and Interior Design

Nordblom and the Life Time Group set out to create a new residence centered around wellness. They reached out to our team to provide architecture and interior design services for this project.

Our design for the interior evokes warmth and tranquility, featuring an earth-toned palette inspired by nature. A two-story glass-front amenity area surrounds a spacious outdoor courtyard, fostering a strong visual and physical connection with the outdoors. We celebrated natural light and greenery throughout, as they are integral to the Life Time’s health and wellness focus. Authentic materials such as wood floors, reclaimed wood tables, and natural stone features further enhance the connection to nature.

We incorporated a monumental stair as the primary path from the lobby to a third-floor amenity space and residential units. Clad in white oak treads and blackened steel details, the stairs are a connecting feature within the amenities. The layout offers a blend of social and intimate areas, designed to meet diverse user needs. We carefully curated each space to flow effortlessly from day to night, whether for work, social gatherings, relaxation, or activity.

Also of note, the building's structural design utilizes a proprietary load-bearing steel stud wall assembly and open web steel joists that connect the exterior and corridor walls. This innovative system provides a notably quiet living environment, reinforcing the overall design theme of promoting wellness from the moment you step through the front door all the way to your living room.

Situated next to the existing Life Time athletic country club, the 167-unit residence marks Life Time’s first multi-family venture in Massachusetts. Located within walking distance of shops, restaurants, office and research facilities, and recreation, the project helps transform a historically office-centric campus into a true live-work-play destination, activating the area beyond traditional business hours.
