The Association of Consulting Engineering Companies British Columbia (ACEC‑BC) has honored Asifa Samji, Stantec’s executive vice president and chief human resources officer, with the 2026 Meritorious Achievement Award. This award recognizes individuals who’ve made outstanding contributions to the consulting engineering profession, the industry, and the broader community.

Samji’s career reflects both the breadth and depth of leadership within the consulting engineering field. She’s held technical, operational, and executive roles, bringing a systems‑level perspective to how organizations perform and grow.

In her current role at Stantec, Samji leads the global human resources team during a period of significant growth and transformation—strengthening workforce strategies, advancing leadership development, and shaping programs that support employees across regions and career stages.

Throughout her career, Samji has remained deeply committed to mentorship and professional service, contributing to boards, committees, and initiatives that support the future of the industry.

“Starting my career in a technical discipline gave me a deep appreciation for what it takes to deliver in complex environments,” says Samji. “As chief human resources officer, my focus is on making it easier for great people to do great work and make meaningful impact. I’m deeply grateful to ACEC-BC for this recognition and share it with the colleagues, clients, and mentors who have shaped my journey and made this work so rewarding.”
