In Community Connections we explore best practice in placemaking, the latest on government policy and built environment issues of interest to those working in the public sector.
From designing communities that put people first to calculating social value and ensuring sustainability, we draw on expert insight across our business to help you deliver against your planning, policy and growth objectives.
In our second edition of Community Connections, we consider levelling up, connectivity, and redevelopment.
Firstly, we consider the funding available to ‘level up’ communities and whether local authorities are getting the support they need to access and secure it.
Secondly, in line with the growing emphasis on transforming connectivity to help us build back better, we ask what connectivity could look like in your community, and we touch upon some of the transport options that can move people away from using their cars.
Finally, as we wait for the promised modernisation of the planning system, we present a selection of webinars on the new permitted development rights and town centre use classes.
As COP26 approaches, we also introduce the work we are doing in the run up to this pivotal event and invite you to join us on the journey.
As always, we welcome your feedback, and we encourage you to get in touch via CommunityConnections@stantec.com with any thoughts you have on this edition or ideas for future articles.
