Stantec appointed to Highways England technical engineering framework
Stantec has been appointed alongside Costain to the £27.4bn, four-year framework

Highways England (HE) has appointed Stantec to its Specialist Professional and Technical Services (SPaTS2) framework, a selected group of consultants it will ask to deliver technical services over the next four years.
The HE SPaTS framework was originally launched in 2016 to support the £15bn investment in HE’s Road Investment Strategy; the SPaTS2 framework will help HE deliver a £27.4bn investment in the strategic road network during road period 2 (2020-2025).
Several new consultants have been appointed to the framework for the next four-year period and Stantec is among them working alongside Costain in an existing partnership. Commenting on the appointment, Dougie McDonald, Regional Director UK Transport, Stantec, said:

The SPaTS2 framework is designed to shape and support HE’s strategic objectives including the delivery of a road network which supports the economy. We have been appointed alongside our partner Costain and will work with them to build a network that prioritises safety, reliability, sustainability and incorporates intelligent transport systems.”
As part of the professional services framework, Stantec will provide road transport related technical consultancy, engineering advice, and research and innovation services. Stantec will call on its transport teams up and down the country to apply their extensive skills to design standards and departures, economics, statistics and transport modelling, environmental and geotechnical engineering, highway structures, intelligent transport, risk and value management, road user behaviour, strategic transport planning and policy, sustainability, traffic signals and transport engineering.
