Stantec appoints Andy Porter as Head of Innovation and Technical Services for Infrastructure and Buildings

Stantec UK is pleased to announce that Andy Porter has been appointed as Head of Innovation and Technical Services for Infrastructure and Buildings.

Andy joins Stantec from WSP where he was responsible for digital delivery capability and internal transformation in the Transport & Environment Advisory sectors. He brings with him a wealth of experience in supporting clients in successful grant innovation fund applications, developing digital product strategies and deploying digital data collection, analysis and reporting tools across multiple technical disciplines.

In his new role, Andy will work closely with infrastructure and buildings clients across the UK and Ireland to identify innovative technology forward approaches for better, faster and greener services that will support their business needs and objectives.  Aligning closely with our sector and regional leads, he will help shape our service portfolio, ensuring delivery of services and new solutions to address digital insights, client challenges and opportunities in a competitive market.

Building on the success of Stantec IO, he will also focus on combining emerging technologies with the expertise of our technical teams to develop innovative, cost effective digital solutions that deliver project efficiencies, reduce carbon impact, create social value and secure the best possible outcome for our clients and the communities they serve.

Andy will work closely with the innovation office and stakeholder engagement teams to support funding proposals for the development of digital solutions that align our technological offering with the needs of our clients – helping them overcome their most complex project challenges while enhancing and protecting the environment.

Commenting on his new role, Andy said: “There is an increasing demand from our clients and the wider industry to deliver better societal outcomes through our built environment projects - innovation and technology is key to helping us achieve that goal. Andy’s appointment follows the announcement that Dan Causley has been promoted to Head of Digital for Water and Energy services. Together they will work across the UK business to combine emerging technologies with subject matter expertise to deliver added value to clients and help us bring to life our aim to be offer the best inter-disciplinary services in our sectors.
