09/15/2021 UNITED KINGDOM TSX, NYSE:STN

Stantec is pleased to announce that Rebecca Crawford has joined its UK Environmental Services business as Stakeholder and Consultation Manager. In this role, Rebecca will provide focused technical and growth leadership to the major infrastructure stakeholder and consultation capability that Stantec has developed over recent years.

With over fifteen years of experience in stakeholder engagement and consultation, Rebecca will support teams working on Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects that require Development Consent Orders (DCOs) and other major infrastructure consents. She will oversee the development of stakeholder engagement strategies and manage engagement with stakeholders across local authorities, central government, statutory and non-statutory bodies, and the private sector. Rebecca’s work will establish the strong working relationships with stakeholders that underpin successful consent applications.

Rebecca has a diverse professional background in numerous sectors, including rail, highways, water, wastewater, urban regeneration, waste, mining and oil and gas. Her invaluable UK experience includes working client-side for HS2 (Interface Manager West London) and Thames Water (Senior Customer & Stakeholder Engagement Manager for Wastewater South). Rebecca also has strong consultancy credentials, having worked on flood management projects for the Environment Agency and alongside National Highways on improvement schemes such as M25 Junction 10. She also worked on the Oxford Street District transformation project, managing multiple consultations per work area under traffic orders for Westminster City Council.

Rebecca has international project experience that aligns well with the ongoing growth of Stantec’s wider global business. This includes acting as Social Impact and Stakeholder Manager on the Turkey-Austria Nabucco pipeline and contributing to the feasibility study for a refined hydrocarbon products pipeline across three African nations (Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda). Rebecca has worked in rural Australia managing a team to deliver Queensland Gas Corporation's social performance agenda across the upstream component of the Queensland Curtis LNG project. She was also responsible for the entire stakeholder engagement process on an offshore oil exploration Strategic Environment Assessment in Lebanon.

Elaine Richmond, Director of Environmental Services adds: “I’m thrilled that Rebecca has joined the team. She will support the continued growth of the Major Infrastructure across all aspects of consenting. This includes a continued focus on driving the digital transformation of the team to drive better efficiency and experience for our clients and customers.”
