Stantec receives bronze award from Defence Employer Recognition Scheme

The scheme recognises commitment and support from UK employers for defence personnel

10/21/2021 UNITED KINGDOM TSX, NYSE:STN

Stantec is delighted to be a bronze award holder from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) which recognises commitment and support from UK employers for defence personnel. The scheme gives awards to employers of serving or former Armed Forces and their families.

Bronze award holders are nominated by employers who pledge to support the armed forces, including existing or prospective employees who are members of the community. Stantec is a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, promotes being armed forces-friendly and is open to employing reservists, armed forces veterans (including the wounded, injured and sick), cadet instructors and military spouses/partners.

Through its business dealings and operations, Stantec UK upholds the key principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, and recognises the value serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to business and country. It supports all national events including Armed Forces Day, Reserves Day, the Poppy Appeal Day and

Remembrance activities, and Armed Forces charities with fundraising and supporting employees who volunteer to assist.

Gill Blandin-Ellis, Director of Human Resources at Stantec, said: “We’re proud to receive this award as recognition for our support to serving and former Armed Forces. At Stantec, we recognise their wide range of skills and will continue to find opportunities that can develop these further in other sectors.”

Tim Williams, Strategic Growth and Business Development Director, and serving Armed Forces officer, Royal Naval Reserve, said: “Stantec both provides support to those that have and still serve such as myself, as well as recognising the broad range of skills offered by veterans in a business such as ours. We can build on this recognition and support reservists and recruit from the armed forces leavers community during the transition between armed forces and civilian career. These diverse individuals can provide a wealth of skills and experience which are of great value to us and the communities in which we work.”
