Mike Cammock joins Stantec to lead north of England Transport Planning Team

Stantec has appointed Mike Cammock as Director of Transport Planning to further strengthen its offering in the north of England across all sectors and for national, regional and local authority clients.

Based in Leeds, Mike will have responsibility for growing our transport planning business across the north of England. He will work closely with existing regional clients and teams, develop new relationships, and support national delivery and opportunities across the wider business.

Mike has 22 years’ experience within the transportation and highways sector. Before joining Stantec, he worked for Jacobs, leading its transport planning business across the north of England. Mike has a broad range of technical expertise and experience providing operational leadership, transport planning and advisory services to a wide range of clients.

His primary area of expertise is the development and delivery of investment programmes and major schemes, and he has been involved in the development of over 50 successful business cases. His experience in this area led the Department of Transport (DfT) to invite him to join the Joint Analysis Development Panel as a subject matter expert for the development of business cases in 2019. Throughout his career, Mike has worked on several nationally significant programmes for the DfT/National Highways including the Smart Motorway Programme, the Oxford to Cambridge Expressway Strategic Study, the A1 in Northumberland Strategic Study and the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement scheme.

The Stantec UK Transport team is working on several major Frameworks and projects, including with Transport for Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire Combined Authorities, National Highways, Transport Scotland, HS2, and M6toll. Stantec helped develop the Scottish National Transport Strategy with Transport Scotland, is working on the upgrade of Bristol Temple Meads Station for Network Rail, providing design support to VolkerFitzpatrick on the Highways England DIP programme and is also currently engaged on the M3 J9 scheme.
