Stantec triumphs at CIR Risk Management Awards

Stantec, a leader in sustainable design and engineering, has won in two of the headline categories at the 2022 CIR Risk Management Awards. The Company collected the Risk Management Team of the Year trophy while Stantec’s Simon Motley, Head of Risk Management for Water and Buildings, was named, Risk Manager of the Year.

The CIR Risk Management Awards, celebrate excellence in the field of project risk management in the UK and are the ultimate accolade in the sector. Stantec also had two of its entries shortlisted in the Newcomer of the Year category. 

For the Risk Management Team of the Year category, the judges recognised Stantec’s achievements around its Programme Management and Integrator Services risk management team. This team creates and embeds industry-leading, tailored risk management strategies that help clients meet their business objectives by maximising opportunities, minimising threats and driving efficiencies. 

Simon Motley was recognised as Risk Manager of the Year due to his contribution to Southern Water’s Water for Life Hampshire Programme, which is widely acknowledged as one of the most complex schemes of its kind. 

Simon was responsible for implementing a bespoke risk management framework and strategy which would ensure a consistent supply of quality drinking water to customers in the Hampshire and Isle of Wight regions during drought conditions. This strategy would also reduce Southern Water’s impact on the environment, particularly on the local river systems.
