Stantec awarded the RoSPA Order of Distinction Gold Medal

Stantec, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering services, has been awarded the Order of Distinction Gold Medal by The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards is the largest occupational health and safety awards programme in the UK. Now into its 67th year, the awards have around 2,000 entries annually, covering nearly 50 countries and reaching more than 7 million employees. The Distinction Gold Medal is an internationally recognised health and safety accolade from RoSPA, presented to organisations which have achieved a minimum of 15 consecutive Gold Awards, with Stantec now having been awarded 20.

The latest award recognises Stantec’s SaferTogether^TM culture across its UK and Ireland operations and its commitment to continuous improvement in preventing accidents and ill health at work. It considers overarching health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

Stantec’s SaferTogether ethos is communicated to employees through a comprehensive engagement strategy that includes ongoing use of the Company’s intranet, eBulletins from senior leadership, office signage, presentations, and workshops. Stantec actively helps employees manage risks in dynamic work environments, with every colleague knowing they have a Stop Work Authority—the ability to stop work immediately if they’re aware of an unsafe act or condition that could place anyone in danger or if they aren’t confident in the work plan.
