Creating balance with the Celebrate Virginia development
Live. Work. Play. It’s the ideal balance found in the mixed-use development Celebrate Virginia (North and South). This master-planned community is comprised of commercial development, corporate offices, residential communities, and three 18-hole golf courses along the scenic Rappahannock River.
To help this community take shape and stay in compliance, we provided services for stormwater management master planning (including low impact development principles), VPDES Permitting, SWPPP development, water quality analysis, and BMP conceptual design. The innovative multi-million dollar stormwater management system we designed strategically locates regional stormwater management facilities and stormwater retrofits. The project received a Policy, Research, Education, and Partnership Award from the EPA and DCR for a Commitment to Excellence in Low Impact Development.
To gain approval for construction, we coordinated with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. EPA, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, and the Virginia Marine Resources Commission.
