FIU and Baptist Health South Florida Health Sciences and Clinical Facility

Florida is on track to face a major physician shortage by 2035. Florida International University (FIU) and Baptist Health South Florida joined forces to address it. Together, they’re launching more than 22 new graduate medical education programs to train young doctors in high‑need specialties and increase access to quality healthcare.

Our team is providing architecture, medical planning, landscape design, sustainability consulting, and other key services to deliver a new advanced academic medical center.

Set on FIU’s Modesto A. Maidique Campus, the building will serve as a shared hub for clinical care, research, and education. It blends the identities of both FIU and Baptist Health into one welcoming, collaborative environment that highlights the strength of their partnership.

The facility will offer outpatient clinical services for the community and hands‑on, team‑based learning for students at the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. Inside, you’ll find clinical spaces, diagnostic imaging, procedure and surgical areas, plus administrative and support functions—all under one roof.

Schematic design began in January 2025, and construction is expected to be completed in 2028.
