Transforming pen strokes on paper into buildings has always been Joel’s passion. He promotes the use of design technology across the firm to foster creativity and innovation, as well as improve the design, delivery, and handover of facilities to our clients.
Joel’s technical background puts him in a unique position to focus on how we can use digital technologies to assist with putting a building together. He works closely with project teams to ensure they achieve efficiency while continuing to push the design envelope. Joel also oversees the Digital Practice team’s user engagement initiative, which is how Digital Practice consults with various stakeholders to assess the project delivery process and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and the adoption of emerging tools.
A graduate of Howard University, Joel serves on the Person of Color subcommittee of Stantec’s US Inclusion & Diversity council and plays a role in the Company’s outreach effort to historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).
Joel enjoys watching sporting events across the globe, both in person and on television. He also loves trying new restaurants, traveling, and running outdoors.
