With more than 30 years of industry experience, Kirk is focused on enhancing Stantec’s reputation in all our applications of energy. His career has progressed from the design, construction, and management of a variety of oil and gas, infrastructure, and environmental projects to his current executive, strategic planning, and management responsibilities.
Kirk believes in an approach that puts people, clients, and community first. He is committed to trusted client relationships and demonstrates excellence in safety and quality throughout the design, construction, and operations phases. Recently, Kirk has been leading a joint venture for the development of energy storage facilities (using pumped storage) with a number of First Nations clients in Canada. These diverse sites are transforming operational and abandoned mine sites to support the development of clean energy.
Holding a bachelor of applied sciences in civil engineering from the University of Waterloo and a master of applied science sciences in civil engineering from the University of British Columbia, Kirk has also completed the Directors of Education Program from the Institute of Corporate Directors in Calgary, Alberta.
He may have missed his calling in the world of sports—as a triathlon competitor and lover of basketball, golf, hockey, baseball, curling, skiing, cycling, and swimming—but he hasn’t missed a step when it comes to building a successful engineering firm.
