Richard has 20 years of consultancy experience in planning for housing, the economy, and employment. He has provided evidence and advice for local authorities through strategic housing market assessments (SHMA), housing needs studies, and employment land reviews. He also works to identify land for—and test the feasibility of—new communities.
He has helped draft guidance on planning for housing and economic land uses for both central and local government clients, and he’s undertaken countless local evidence base documents for the public and private sector.
Richard defends his work at both examination in public and inquiry. In addition to helping formulate polices, he also works with clients to promote development schemes: especially where employment land or housing considerations are paramount.
When not at work, he can normally be found travelling the dark corners of the world. Preferably taking the slow route on a Soviet-era train destined for somewhere you have never heard of.
