There’s always a way to find more efficiency in your industrial processes
After working with Cavendish Farms on a facility-wide energy effectiveness audit—where we identified several energy efficiency opportunities and reduced fuel and electricity costs—we were asked back for another project. They wanted to improve their steam plant efficiency, and the first step was conceptual design.
We proposed the layout and installation steps for a boiler stack economizer, a type of equipment that’s used to recover heat contained in the flue gases from boilers. Once funding had been approved, we moved on to detailed design for the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and controls packages.
The result? An estimated seven percent increase in steam plant efficiency. That means they burn less fuel, reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
