With more than 20 years of experience in ecological assessment, regulation, and design, Kirsty has a wide breadth of experience working on projects in both England and Queensland, Australia.
While in the United Kingdom, Kirsty specialised in green infrastructure and sustainable development through the natural capital approach. By assessing the natural capital of sites, she determined the ecosystem services provided by nature and advised on the design of developments that allowed nature to continue to provide those services. In addition to saving clients money, this approach helps make development more sustainable, more livable, and improves the wellbeing of residents. Green infrastructure is natural capital managed in a way that provides ecosystem services to people including pollution control, flood mitigation, urban cooling, and more.
When Kirsty isn’t leading a team of talented ecologists, she likes to renovate her Queenslander cottage, draw, and go swing dancing.
