Stephen’s career includes six years in government specialising in the mechanical design and auditing of correctional facilities, police stations and watch-houses, and central energy plants—particularly in government facilities. He’s also worked in mining infrastructure development including greenfield development of mine industrial areas and detail design of mechanical machines and structures.
He’s experienced in project and contract management as well as the conceptual and detail design of total mechanical systems. Stephen is skilled in building energy audits, condition audits, and green building design and documentation, and his main focus over the last decade has been on prisons/correctional centres—helping design facilities to rehabilitate people back into the community.
Before becoming a professional engineer, Stephen worked for 10 years in a mechanical trade environment, giving him the vision to design mechanical services that focus on safe operation, maintenance, and buildability. When he isn’t at work, Stephen spends his free time playing hockey (defender) or boating and fishing. His biggest catch was a snapper about a metre long.
