A university lecturer told Greg’s class that “An engineer is someone who can do for sixpence what any mug can do for two bob.” In other words, an engineer must save a clients’ money by working smarter. These words have stayed with Greg throughout his career. As leader of rail projects, Greg is constantly learning and progressing his skills to work smarter and provide solutions for his clients that are both effective and efficient.
Having worked on major rail projects throughout Australia and West Africa, Greg brings more than 30 years expertise to the heavy haul sector of rail. Particularly, he’s excited about the future of using renewable energy for moving bulk commodities. Recently, Greg delivered an engineering design for 25% of what it cost on the client’s previous, similar sized project. On another project, He also developed a low-cost method for eliminating corrosion on corrugated steel pipes to solve a significant problem in the rail industry, which has now become a standard practice.
Outside of work, Greg indulges in a different mode of transportation―a yellow submarine―as an avid music and Beatles fan.
