Each webinar will last for one hour and those in attendance will receive a certificate to submit for professional development hours or continuing education units.

Upcoming webinars:

June 6: Get Ahead of FEMA’s Flood Risk Initiative

FEMA’s Future of Flood Risk Data initiative has the potential to drastically improve our understanding of flood hazards and risk. But getting there won’t be easy. The datasets and models are extensive; the work associated with responding to this needed change could be significant. With the dramatic increase in extreme weather and flooding events, this initiative is more important than ever before.

Join Susan Marlow and Brandy Little at our upcoming webinar where we will dive deep into the FEMA Flood Risk Initiative and discuss how tools like Flood Manager can help.

Date: Tuesday, June 6
Time: 1:00-2:00 pm ET
Presenters: Susan Marlow, Brandy Little

June 14: Potable Reuse: Achieving Water Sustainability in a Changing Climate

Creating a climate-resilient source of water for a surging population means exploring the challenges facing our water resources and the critical role water reuse can play. Learn from Rob McCandless, Stantec's North American Water Reuse Treatment Lead about the drivers, regulations, issues, and most importantly, innovative solutions to maximize advanced water treatment and its applications.

Date: Wednesday, June 14, 2023
Time: 12:00 - 1:00 pm ET
Presenter: Rob McCandless

June 21: Changes in U.S. Federal Incentives Will Drive Organic Waste Anaerobic Digestion and Biogas Utilization Projects

The Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) has been the driver for many new anaerobic digestion (and co-digestion) to biogas to renewable natural gas (RNG) projects for wastewater, landfills, food and beverage, food waste, animal manure, and agricultural byproducts. The EPA is now re-setting the RFS to not only include biogas to RNG, but now biogas to CHP. This incentive program in addition to the Inflation Reduction Act will infuse billions of dollars into the wastewater sector. Tune in to learn more from Dru Whitlock, Stantec Global Practice Leader for Biosolids and Energy Recovery about how this expansion will drive the future of treatment projects.

Date: Wednesday, June 21, 2023
Time: 12:00 - 1:00 pm ET
Presenter: Dru Whitlock

July 26: Sustainable design and development of large diameter CSO tunnels

Dig in with Stantec’s tunneling leaders to learn about tunnel design in the context of past, present, and future CSO tunnels in North America. Attendees will learn about the realities of today's large diameter projects including:

  • Geotechnical and geologic/hydrogeologic characterization
  • Geotechnical Baseline Reports (GBRs) and risk
  • Precast Concrete Tunnel Lining (PCTL) segments and design considerations
  • Construction impact assessments, instrumentation, and monitoring
  • Large diameter tunnel construction in urban environments

Date: Wednesday, July 26, 2023
Time: 12:00 - 1:00 pm ET
Presenters: Julian Prada, Steve Fradkin
