June 21: Changes in U.S. Federal Incentives Will Drive Organic Waste Anaerobic Digestion and Biogas Utilization Projects
The Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) has been the driver for many new anaerobic digestion (and co-digestion) to biogas to renewable natural gas (RNG) projects for wastewater, landfills, food and beverage, food waste, animal manure, and agricultural byproducts. The EPA is now re-setting the RFS to not only include biogas to RNG, but now biogas to CHP. This incentive program in addition to the Inflation Reduction Act will infuse billions of dollars into the wastewater sector.
