Stantec hires Laddie Irion as Senior Aviation Sector Advisor

Industry veteran will support expansion of Stantec’s North American aviation presence

Stantec, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, has hired Laddie Irion to support the firm’s aviation infrastructure team as a senior aviation sector advisor. In this newly created role, he will help the company expand its aviation services and presence across North America. With more than 30 years of experience in project delivery, strategic management and business development, he has focused on the implementation of large-scale airport development programs. Throughout his career, he has guided teams on integrating complex planning, environmental, and engineering challenges to lead large aviation projects to success. Examples include management of environmental impact studies associated with proposed major development programs at DFW International Airport, St. Louis International Airport, Washington-Dulles International Airport and Hong Kong International Airport. He also has been involved in winning and delivering program management projects at several airports including Los Angeles International Airport, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Aviation has long been animportant part of Stantec's business, and the company plans to further expand its aviation services into Florida, Texas, and California. With Irion’s extensive experience in the aviation industry, he will help Stantec grow its presence and brand in North America and in these key focus markets.

Irion has a long tenure within the airport industry and has been active in leadership roles with key industry organizations such as Airport Council International, the American Association of Airport Executives, the Airport Consultants Council and the Federal Aviation Administration’s Next Gen Institute. Based in the Tampa Bay area, he also serves as the President of the Tony Jannus Distinguished Aviation Society.

Stantec has a long history in the Aviation sector, having delivered hundreds of successful projects globally. In North America, representative aviation projects include design support for Terminal 6 at JFK International Airport in New York, design support for the Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau, design services for the modernization of the Great Hall at Denver International Airport and program management support services in Texas at DFW International Airport in Dallas and Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.
