Kathleen Chen

Senior Associate, Health Scientist

Photo of Kathleen

As a health scientist, Kathleen is responsible for performing human health risk assessments and determining associations between environmental exposures of interest and potential health risks. She assists with these risk assessments from both an epidemiological and a toxicological perspective by relying on exposure data, scientific literature, and viewpoints of authoritative agencies. Most of her assessments involve substances such as asbestos, PFAS, and heavy metals.

Kathleen enjoys having the opportunity to contribute to a number of different projects, which allows her to continue to learn about different exposures and health effects and refine her critical thinking capabilities in new contexts. On a number of recent projects, she has helped evaluate associations between various environmental exposures at early time points of exposure and relevant health effects.

Outside of work, Kathleen creates recipes, tries new workout classes, and spends time in the outdoors.
