With more than 15 years of experience, Udana provides specialist consulting services for high voltage direct current (HVDC) and flexible alternating current transmission systems (FACTS) engineering and power system studies. He has a broad background in power delivery and has supported work in the United States, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. One of his most memorable and enjoyable projects so far was the Sunzia Southwest HVDC Transmission Project, which is part of the largest clean energy infrastructure initiative in US history.
Udana is often responsible for conceptual system design, cost estimation, specification development, technical bid evaluation, and witnessing factory tests. He also provides detailed design document review, commissioning support, and HVDC training. Additionally, he has extensive experience with electromagnetic transient (EMT) studies for power system transients including renewable power integration studies, HVDC system studies, and transient overvoltage (TOV).
When he isn’t busy consulting on power delivery projects, Udana enjoys camping, walking his dog, and spending time with his family.
