Derk’s work with public school clients for the past 25 years has focused on strengthening the connection between architecture and learning. He has lead numerous planning, programming, and design projects for academic institutions across the county and abroad.
Derk’s understanding of both the research and application of educational theory drives his passion for creating meaningful spaces and experiences for students. Many of his projects have received local and national recognition for excellence.
