With a Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering focusing on connected autonomous vehicle (CAV) technology, Sama adds her expertise to our global Intelligent Transportation Systems Roads and Vehicles practice (ITS R&V). She’s worked on the Dubai World Challenge on Self-Driving Transport as well as the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s Traffic Management Center (TMC) software upgrades.
Sama has received several prestigious awards including the 2018 Transportation Research Board Best Paper Award, the 2017 Women’s Transportation Seminar International Leadership Legacy Award, and the 2017 Nation’s Top 20 Graduate Students in Transportation award. She also authored a book chapter in Intelligent Transportation Systems in Future Smart Cities with Springer.
When she isn’t at work actively advocating for smarter, more effective transportation, you might find Sama travelling, swimming, working out, or hanging out with friends. She’s also a huge fan of cats, and you may find her volunteering in a shelter to take care of them!
