As an urban planner and designer with a background in architecture, Aicha has accumulated a rich experience in community planning. She’s particularly interested in transit-oriented development (TOD) and master planning that takes into consideration mobility, urban form, and environmental challenges. Through her projects, Aicha has gained expertise in analyzing zoning codes, development potential, and approval processes. She’s also gained valuable insights that add to her skillset by participating in public engagement through various workshops, charrettes, surveys, and public presentations.
As a project manager, Aicha contributes to innovative projects aimed at improving the quality of life in communities across Canada and the United States—a project highlight is the 25 Connects in Cleveland, a transit-oriented community that received an international award from the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
When she’s not working, Aicha enjoys art, particularly painting and dancing, reading historical fiction, and traveling to explore new cities and towns.
