As a health scientist, Andrew is responsible for conducting research and advancing the science of worker and public health protection. He engages in mentoring staff and supporting education in chemical health risk assessment. This focus derives from his prior role as a university associate professor and current role as a course instructor for academic centers and professional societies. He is known for his expertise in occupational toxicology, industrial hygiene, exposure science, and risk assessment.
Andrew is passionate about increasing the impact of his work. He builds teams around advancing the application of new science methods for occupational risk assessment and participates in many activities that build collaborations internally and externally. For example, he serves as the director of a non-profit initiative for outreach on worker health.
When he’s not working on risk assessment challenges, you’ll often find Andrew working on home construction projects or enjoying nature.
