Michael has had extensive involvement in the design and construction of some of the most complicated water, wastewater, and biosolids infrastructure projects in the world. They’ve incorporated various delivery methods, with individual project values ranging up to more than $400M, and advanced technologies including UV disinfection, membrane treatment, and thermal hydrolysis.
He’s also been the program manager for delivery of a $40M water and sanitation program in Indonesia delivering essential water, sanitation, and hygiene services to more than 80 rural villages and towns. The project uses simple technologies appropriate for those scenarios and includes extensive training for village or town water and sanitation committees. Currently, he’s the design manager for a large-scale waste-to-energy project for approximately two million people in the US, and he’s also leading our efforts with various donor agencies to address sanitation challenges internationally.
Michael is headquartered in our Washington, DC, office—a city that he notes as one of the greatest for white-water kayaking, a sport that he enjoys every week of the year.
