Photo of James

For more than 32 years, James has specialized in project management, project engineering, and process engineering. He has an expansive and unique knowledge of food and beverage, bioprocessing, biofuels, agri-business, industrial gases, and the specialty chemicals industries. Working with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firms and as a consultant to the owner, James has successfully executed projects from concept and feasibility through construction and start-up.

He’s served in roles including lead process engineer, field engineering manager, project engineer, and project manager. He ran the field engineering management for the construction of a hydrogen production facility in Northern Alberta for a year, project managed and led the process engineering for a carbon dioxide storage facility in Virginia for Dominion Energy, and served as the owner’s project engineer for a biodiesel facility in Tennessee. Most recently, he’s led a team of subject matter experts for a renewable natural gas facility.

Stantec's client-focused and entrepreneurial culture is a perfect match to James’s chemical process engineering background and his passion for team building, customer focus, and continuous improvement. He enjoys being part of a global company network that provides new opportunities for both Stantec's employees and clients, and this supports his interests in travel, meeting new people, and learning about other cultures. He’s also a passionate hiker and mountain biker, enjoying the physical and mental challenges of new adventures.
