With an affinity for math and a mind for data analysis, Allison is a data scientist with unparalleled documentation skills. She double majored in math and economics as an undergrad and received a master’s degree in geographic information systems or GIS. After doing fieldwork where she caught bears, salamanders, snakes, and beavers to collect and run data, she moved on her job with us.
Today, you’ll find Allison working as a data scientist with Stantec Insight Analytics where she applies machine learning to operational analytics. Her focus is in the water sector where she produces predictive analytics. She compiles and manages large datasets, conducts exploratory data analyses, develops software, creates dashboards, and documents the full process.
After work, Allison usually heads to a yoga studio or a CrossFit class—and she often stays up too late reading a sci-fi or fantasy novel.
