A senior transportation engineer, Steve’s experience includes highway, interchange, and intersection design, innovative design solutions, quality control and assurance, and project management.
Steve uses his experience to develop and teach guardrail design classes to help understand the ever-changing technical advancements. In addition, he was part of a team that developed and taught context sensitive solution classes as the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) became one of the first states to embrace a national movement that recognizes highways are not just for commuting purposes. Steve values the importance of partnership and communication—in his words, “In order to understand what the client is looking for, you must first listen to hear what they are saying.”
Steve enjoys mentoring young engineers, instilling his knowledge and expertise in future generations. He gets satisfaction out of working with clients to successfully finish quality projects with community advancement in mind.
