Curtis is a professional engineer serving as a team lead and technical expert for several clients—such as FEMA—in the flood risk industry. His projects focus on leveraging big data and statistical analyses to identify flood-prone areas throughout the country.

Promoting efficient solutions in support of sound floodplain management, Curtis specializes in levee data analysis and watershed modeling. His goal is to maximize value by applying the latest approaches in cloud computing, statistics, computer science, and watershed modeling. His role frequently requires coordination with government officials, community officials, and local property owners to explain the science and engineering methods behind new types of flood hazard analyses.

Outside of work, Curtis likes to spend time golfing, hiking, or relaxing at the beach or lake with a good fiction book. His favorite novels are City of Thieves by David Benioff and The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss.
